About private classes
Since everyone is different, we customise your private classes to suit your physical, psychological and spiritual needs.
Why is personal yoga training better than a yoga class?
Do you want to experience the benefits of yoga but are hesitant to join a class due to health concerns, full schedules or a lack of experience? If so, private sessions are ideal for you.
Unlike traditional classes, personal yoga training is specifically tailored to your needs and goals.
✓ You do not need to follow a teacher or a large group.
✓ Your yogi will meet you exactly where you are for unbeatable convenience
✓ A focus wholly on your needs.
✓ All yoga stretches cater to your body and abilities.
✓ Experience breakthroughs much faster than in a group setting.
When should you try a private yoga class?
Regardless of whether you’re new to practising yoga, a seasoned veteran or returning to yoga after an absence, one-on-one training is perfect for you.
We believe you should consider private classes if you:
✔ Are a yoga newbie
A group setting can be quite intimidating, especially if yoga is new to you. In this case, your instructor can teach and help you master basic poses and yoga stretches until you’re ready to progress to more challenging exercises.
✔ Have a specific health issue
As you’re working one-on-one with your instructor, they will tailor the workout to suit your specific needs. This is particularly helpful if you have a pre-existing health condition. Your teacher will modify poses to ensure you feel safe and do not injure yourself.
✔ Want to address a life challenge
Everyone has different goals. If you’re dealing with a significant life challenge (i.e. wanting to get back in shape, recovering from injury or illness, etc.), these classes can help you gain strength and overcome these challenges.
What are the benefits of having a personal yoga trainer?
One of the main reasons people are reluctant to join a yoga group is they feel they will miss out on the individual attention a one-on-one lesson can provide.
Along with giving you a truly personalised experience, there are many compelling reasons to hire a personal yoga trainer.
Some of these benefits include:
- All yoga stretches and breathing exercises are uniquely designed to meet your needs and to help you achieve your goals.
- During sessions you can focus on what’s important to you.
- You have the freedom to explore other facets of yoga, such as pranayama, kriya, meditation and yoga philosophy.
- You can progress at your own pace.
- Improving your physical and psychological strength, balance and flexibility.
How to choose a personal yoga instructor
Choosing a private yoga teacher is an extremely personal decision. It is not one to be made lightly.
To ensure you find the perfect fit, here are 4 important questions to ask before hiring a personal teacher.
How and why do you teach yoga? – I have been studying and teaching yoga for over 40 years, with the wide range of benefits from physical to mental and spiritual the driving force behind my passion. It’s these life affirming and life-changing benefits I love sharing with others.
What style(s) of yoga do you teach? – I teach a wide variety of yoga styles from beginner through more advanced asana classes. My style has been influenced by my journey through yoga, which included studying under Paramahansa Swami Satyānanda for 10 years in India.
What is your teaching style? – My teaching style is hands on and focused on your success. It is my goal to bring the ancient art of yoga into a modern day context, through each private yoga class I run.
How can you help me achieve my physical, psychological and spiritual goals? – Physical, psychological and spiritual goals take time. However, with yoga able to bring so much light across all areas of your life, these benefits may be experienced from your first session, with the benefits compounding over time.
Specific private yoga and meditation practices
At Mukti Freedom Yoga, we believe meditation is a crucial component of any yoga session. We feel that your spiritual health is just as important as your physical health.
That’s why we offer a wide variety of specialised meditation practices, including:
Yoga routines
Whether you have never practised yoga before, are at an intermediate skill level or even a pro, our classes can walk you through a wide variety of yoga stretches and routines. During group and private sessions, you can learn:
– Hatha yoga
– Vinyasa yoga
– Iyengar yoga
– Ashtanga yoga
– Bikram yoga
– Hot yoga
– Kundalini yoga
– Yin yoga
– And more
Astrological yoga sadhana practice
This is a process of self-enrichment, which is designed to bring out the best in yourself.
Astrological sadhana is a daily spiritual practice, which focuses on self-improvement and assists you in achieving your true purpose in life.
It can be done in individual sessions or in a group. The key purpose is to clear your consciousness, so you can personally relate to the vast infinity which is inside you.
Chakra balancing
Your chakras are your body’s seven main energy centres. Each is located in a different part of your body, corresponding to a specific physical ailment or dysfunction. In addition, each energy centre contains your emotional and mental strength.
Physical problems are often related to a dysfunction in your emotional state. Chakra balancing releases this negative energy, removing tightness and pain. It also relieves your emotional state of mind, helping you feel positive and healthier.
Yoga psycho-management of specific issues
Historically, yoga was a spiritual discipline, whose key goal was spiritual enhancement. The combination of improving physical and spiritual health creates an ideal state of psycho-physiological well-being.
If you’re struggling with your mental health, we offer classes to help you address these problems directly through yoga. Psycho-management of mental imbalances using yoga is very effective, as the majority of physical problems have a psychological root.
Kriya yoga
Kriya yoga comprises a spiritual path of yoga, meditation and ethical living. The ancient technique promotes simultaneous physical, emotional, mental and spiritual development.
This non-sectarian path helps you to reach a higher state of consciousness, transforms your life and increases your awareness and closeness to the Divine.
Private yoga consultations
Whether you are apprehensive of attending a group yoga class, want to progress at your own pace, or are seeking to overcome a significant health or life challenge, private consultations are the answer you’ve been looking for.
You will learn about your innermost drives which motivate your chakra energy.
When you have difficulty addressing your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual needs, your thinking, acting, feelings and emotions are negatively impacted.
These sessions will rid you of this negative energy, by helping you find constructive ways to express yourself.

What can I expect from my first private session?
During your first private yoga class, we want to get to know you. So, we’ll discuss your reasons for starting yoga, any injuries, recent surgeries or any other pre-existing conditions. Then, you’ll be guided through a series of asanas, and given instructions on how to do these poses correctly.
In your first private meditation class, we will learn about your physical, emotional and spiritual needs, goals and desires. During your first session, we’ll discuss what you hope to get out of meditation and any pre-existing injuries or conditions.
Then, we’ll walk you through some gentle meditation exercises, designed to help you achieve a clear state of mind, regulate your emotions and reduce stress.
What does a private yoga class involve?
Delivered in a comfortable environment, a private yoga session offers a greater level of internal focus and freedom from the distraction or competitiveness of group classes. You’ll have the opportunity to learn the basics at your own pace, with a dedicated teacher.
Your instructor will walk you through the entire routine, offering modifications, adjustments and assists, if you need them. This one-on-one attention helps to enhance your yoga practice, and bring awareness to the foundations and alignment in poses.
You will find your confidence grows as your instructor will give you specific feedback, and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
